Twinmotion Quick Tips 01: customizing the background in Twinmotion
Twinmotion provides 9 backgrounds by default, but how do you customize the background in Twinmotion with your own pictures? In this Quick Tip, we’ll share a tip from Twinmotion power user Jesus Carbajal. It’s about using a textured dome to serve as a context. Step 1 / 4: download the textured dome examples created by Jesus Carbajal in .tmi format. Step 2 / 4: save them in the Twinmotion user library by copying the .tmi files to Document/Twinmotion2018 or Twinmotion2019/User Library Step 3 / 4: launch Twinmotion. The domes can be found at the bottom of the Twinmotion library, inside the User library folder. Drag & Drop them into your scene. Step 4 / 4: select the dome’s texture using the material picker. You’ll then have access to the material settings dock, where you can adjust the texture’s position. Use these domes as an example — you could replace the texture with other 360° pictures to create your own background. Customize the background in Twinmotion in 4 steps.
Here are some rendered images by Jesus using this technique.
We hope this quick tip is useful for you as you experiment with Twinmotion.
