Twinmotion 2018 Feedback Friday – 10.11

It’s Friday. A new Feedback Friday is here for you.

You can ask questions that interest you about Twinmotion on the Twinmotion forum, under the “Feedback Friday” post on the Twinmotion Facebook page, or #Twinmotion on Twitter. The most asked questions will be answered every two weeks in a Feedback Friday article.

  • How do I apply a material to a surface in Twinmotion 2018?

To apply a material to a surface, you need to apply materials to your geometry in the modeling tool, which means to apply a color to each element of your geometry or a texture from your modeling tool if you’d like to keep the UV. Even if the texture is not the definitive texture for your project, this will help to dissociate faces of your model. Once imported into Twinmotion, Twinmotion can recognize the dissociation of the faces.

  • Why is the mapping in Twinmotion messed up?

While applying a material to an object in Twinmotion, there are 4 UV options: Cubic UV, Cylindrical UV, Spherical UV and from object UV. Twinmotion uses Cubic UV mode by default. This may cause the mapping issue when your object is not a cube. When importing your object in Twinmotion, switch to “keep object UV” mode before applying a material; Twinmotion will use the mapping coming from the object.

  • How can I use Twinmotion in both the office and at home?

It is possible to work with Twinmotion in both the office and at home using the same license.

Twinmotion Pro licenses can activate one Twinmotion program at a time. However, it’s possible for users to deactivate their serial number and activate another Twinmotion. To do so, you simply need to go to the Help menu – License information and click the deactivation button. Once deactivated, you can use the same serial number to activate another Twinmotion program.

  • What is the texturing requirement of Twinmotion?

Twinmotion supports texture resolution from 1×1 up to 8192×8192. The support formats are DDS, PNG, PSD, JPG, TGA. And it’s recommended to have the position of your project at 0.0.0.

That’s all for this Friday. The next Feedback Friday is on November 24. Have a nice weekend!
