Feedback Friday: Twinmotion 2018 tips – April 13, 2018
Hi everyone, it’s our Friday meet again to talk about Twinmotion 2018 tips and to answer questions you’ve asked on social media. Let’s start right away! This time, we’ll cover the following subjects:
-
How do I share a Twinmotion panorama on Facebook?
360° panoramas are one of 4 possible output media from Twinmotion 2018. The integration of the online platform Twinlinker into Twinmotion 2018 makes it possible for users to export a panorama directly online and create a virtual project in just a few clicks.
Apart from using Twinlinker, you can also export a panorama image in.PNG format to your computer.
Many of you asked how to share your Twinmotion panorama on Facebook. We looked into the possibilities and here is a possible solution:
Step 1/3: convert your finished panorama from.PNG format to.JPG format
Many software will allow you to do this. In our case, we used Photoshop to convert the Twinmotion panorama below to .JPG format.

Step 2/3: Go to http://thexifer.net
The thexifer.net allows you to change the file information online. In order to let Facebook recognize your panorama as a 360° photo, the camera information of the image needs to be changed to a 360° camera.
Upload the .jpg format panorama image to the site, click eXif.me.

Fill in the “Make” and “Model” under the EXIF General list with the following information:
Make: Ricoh
Model: Ricoh THETAS
Click “Go.eXifing” and “Download.me” to download the converted .jpg image.

Step 3/3: Finally, publish the converted.JPG panorama image on Facebook and share with us what you’ve got!

How do I reduce the flickering when working with Oculus and Twinmotion?
It’s possible to modify the Oculus settings directly to get more smoothness when working with Twinmotion. To do so, please follow the steps below:
– Go to C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics
– Right click on the OculusDebugTool and choose Properties
– In the Compatibility tab, check the Run this program as an administrator and close the window
– Double click on OculusDebugTool
– Under Pixel Per Display Pixel Override, modify the number between 0.1 and 2 (0.1 is a low resolution, 2 is very high; please first test with 0.8).
– Don’t close this window and run Twinmotion
– Launch the VR BIMmotion and check the difference
This setting will reduce the resolution of the screen to be easier to calculate for Twinmotion. You can adapt this setting depending on the power of your graphic card.

How do I add a customized image to a material to make a logo for an entrance?
We recommend you to add the logo texture directly in your modeling tool before importing all in Twinmotion. However, if you don’t have a choice, you can still get a similar result using the following trick:
First, you need a logo texture in.PNG format without a background.

Then, add a primitive from Twinmotion library and apply the logo texture to it. Activate the “Opacity mask” option to activate the transparency. And it’s done!

That’s all for this time. If you find these tips and tricks useful, don’t hesitate to share with other fellow Twinmotion users.
